AWAY DAY TO BEIRA PORT

Milton Junior School recently went on an Away Day to Beira Port!

After learning all about transportation and supply chains in the classroom, our students got to see logistics in action thanks to the amazing staff at Cornelder de Moçambique S.A.R.L..

The day started with a presentation from Port Operations staff; our students took meticulous notes throughout to support their classroom studies.

It was then time to tour the port facilities. Our students got close to the huge containers that carry all of the different items that arrive and leave the port every day and saw a number of flags from different countries. Seeing these in real life gives our students a better sense of the size and scale of international logistics and a better understanding of how many countries are supported by the port operations in Beira.

Despite the poor weather, this was a valuable educational experience for our students. We love to give our students opportunities to get out of the classroom and 'learn by doing'.

We couldn't have done it without the help and support of the staff at Cornelder de Moçambique S.A.R.L., we thank you for your time and patience in explaining complex port operations at just the right level for our students. We'd also like to give special thanks to the XR Security team for keeping everyone safe and to Pedro Milton (Another One) for his continued support. Teamwork at its best!
