1.        Wake up early in the morning 

Set an alarm and ask your child to wake up early in the morning. Benefits of waking up early include:

Any type of exercise will increase energy levels and provide focus, especially if done first thing in the morning. Regular exercise promotes:

3.        Prepare well for the school day

Re-reading homework and preparing for the school day ahead is a great   way to start the day.  This preparation helps to:

4.        Have a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Too much junk food like potato chips, sweets or sugar-filled meals can cause excessive weight and poor concentration. A healthy, well-balanced diet filled with fruit and vegetables aids overall developmental processes and can improve your child’s temperament. The benefits include:

·      reduced tiredness, more energy.

·      development of better food choices resulting in longer term better health.

5.        Study Maths multiplication tables every day

Learning multiplication tables is essential for building a solid foundation for mathematics. At Milton Junior School, we recommend multiplication tables 1-20 for excellent performance in class. The benefits of daily maths revision include:

7.        Keep bedroom clean and tidy

Children should keep their rooms clean and tidy and organize their belongings. Help your children to create good habits by encouraging them to arrange their clothes, books, and toys in the same place at the end of each day. This simple daily routine leads to:
