MJS Cooking Competiton

Bitesize!

Our Home Economics students took part in a Cooking Competition as part of their end of term practical examinations. Their task? To demonstrate and prepare the perfect fried egg! When the pressure is on, it’s not quite as easy as it sounds…

The details…

There were some nervous faces at the start of our lesson but it didn’t take long before the competitive edge took over! Each of our students rose to the challenge of teaching their classmates how to prepare the perfect dish! Everyone managed to produce a single fried egg for our judges (thank you teachers!) and after a blind taste test, two winners were chosen.

A big congratulations to all of our students (and maybe future chefs?) each of whom passed the practical examination with flying colours. We look forward to seeing what they can prepare next time!

This is another example of how we incorporate practical elements - learning by doing - into our teaching at Milton Junior School. Check out our page about ‘The Leader in Me’ for more information.
