Lychee Tree Planting Project
Milton Kindergarten and Milton Junior School
Bitesize!
We brought our students to Milton Farm where they were shown how to clear a small area of ground and how to prepare it for planting. Every student then had the opportunity to plant their very own tree.
This is always a hugely popular activity. It continues to inspire our students as they see the trees grow and the area change for the better.
The details...
We teach our students about the natural world and the simple steps they can take to improve their environment for today and for the future. We want to make it simple for our students to help the environment and what better way to start than by planting trees! By working together, we can start to restore our natural habitats, improve biodiversity and make a positive impact in our local community and to the world around us.
Through our tree planting programme, we want to teach our students the role trees and reforestation have in creating a healthier and more stable climate, and inspire them to take positive action against deforestation and environmental destruction. We also know that recent scientific studies suggest students are better able to concentrate, complete tasks, and follow directions after playing in natural settings. What better place could we have chosen than Milton Farm?
Remember, education isn’t just about what the students learn in the classroom!
