Care and Share Initiative
Infantário Provincial de Manica
Milton Junior School students continued our Care and Share Initiative with a visit to Infantário Provincial de Manica.
Our students have been hard at work collecting a variety of clothing items from coats and jumpers to dresses, shorts, t-shirts and shoes. A huge thank you to the MJS family members and friends for their generous support!
Two representatives from each Grade visited Infantário Provincial de Manica to handover the donations.
Our students were introduced to children of a similar age and they had the opportunity to learn about the experiences of children just like them who have had a very different start in life.
We want our students to better understand their local communities and we encourage them to develop empathy and compassion for their neighbours, whatever their circumstances.
New friends were made and our students came away with lifelong memories. Our older students in particular, are keen to develop stronger connections with our community - they were already discussing further ways to support our Care and Share Initiative on the bus journey home. We look forward to seeing their ideas come to fruition in the future!
The day finished with our Milton Junior School representatives telling their classmates about their experiences. They shared stories, talked about how they felt and inspired everyone to continue the good work of our Care and Share Initiative
Our day at Infantário Provincial de Manica was a huge success and we’d like to thank everyone involved for making us feel so welcome. However, there is still lots of work to be done.
As Milton Junior School grows, we want to reach out to our community so that it can grow and develop alongside us. We think our students are doing a great job so far and we look forward to sharing more examples of the Milton Junior School Care and Share Initiative in the future!
