“Music has a power of forming character and should therefore be introduced into the education of the young…”

Aristotle - ancient Greek philosopher and scientist

Aristotle was right! Research shows that introducing children to music can boost academic performance as well as being an outlet for creativity.

Learning to play an instrument improves memory and abstract reasoning skills which are essential for maths and science. It also improves concentration, teaches patience and demonstrates the importance of practice and determination!

It should be no surprise then that music plays such an important role in daily life at Milton Junior School. We start in Kindergarten, introducing rhythm and musicality and we progress in Primary to discussions about composers and different types of musical styles. We always encourage our students to try different instruments and express their musicality!

We also have a very successful Milton Junior School Choir! Our students regularly sing during our assemblies but more importantly, they get to sing for families and friends at our end of term events. These are always proud moments for students and parents alike!

Alongside our standard music lessons, we also offer private piano and guitar lessons. If you would like more information on how to apply for private lessons for your child or if you have any questions about Milton Junior School Music Club, please do not hesitate to contact us.
